3 Ingredient Strawberry Limeade Slushie
Sometimes it’s hard to be excited about summer when you live in the Bay Area. Two days ago it was overcast and drizzling on my way to work. This morning the fog so overwhelming even my dentist commented on it.
Thank goodness we went to Sacramento for the 4th of July and lounged by the pool — 36 hours of summertime fun: Achieved!
Despite the lack of scorching weather the rest of the country is feeling, I’m feeling tropical. We’re planning a trip to Hawaii so I’m not gonna lie, that might be helping. I’ve been staring at pictures of poolside cabanas just waiting for the Mai-Tai’s! Here I come Big Island!
But, since that’s still six months away… this SUPER EASY strawberry limeade slushie will have to do.
Okay. This recipe literally could not be easier. Strawberries. Teavana Limeade Twist tea. Mint. Okay fine, the mint is optional! I don’t want to burden you! I did use the phrase “SUPER EASY”, did I not? Yes, I did.
Note: Teavana has since gone out of business. I would recommend using David's Tea Sweet Lime Tea instead.
Alright, back to it. Have a blender? Great. Just blend the frozen strawberries with the limeade tea and a couple mints leaves. BOOM. That’s it. Congratulations. You’ve made the recipe and I can stop writing this article.
I know I usually ask you to scrape out vanilla bean seeds or infuse tea in some creamy mixture. This is not that recipe. Today I simply ask you to combine 3 ingredients in a blender for an easy yet refreshing and tasty mocktail. And hey, if you’re inclined to add a little tequila or rum — you just go right on ahead and cocktail it on up!
Sold you? Good. Now, time to go make this tropical slushie drink. You won’t regret it, I promise.

Lovely little things
- This tea mug from Anthropologie. Noticed it on Wednesday. Had to go buy it on Thursday. So pretty.
- OMG you guys. Betabrand sells Dress Pant Yoga Pants. Yes, you read that correctly. They are yoga pants. But they look like dress pants. Break out the champagne because these are life changing. I got the cropped version because I’m short but I’m sure the longer straight-leg version are equally awesome for those of you taller than 5’2.
